We're pleased to share that the 2026 Qualitatives will be jointly held with the Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, at "The Brock Niagara Falls Fallsview" hotel.
Located along the Niagara River at the foot of the Rainbow Bridge, the Brock Niagara Falls-Fallsview is a recently renovated historic property in the heart of the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Nestled between the glitz of Clifton Hill and the parkland along the river, the hotel is conveniently located to take full advantage of Niagara Falls.
All conference sessions will take place at the hotel.
We have secured excellent guest room rates of $159/night for cityview and $189/night for Fallsview rooms. These are limited, as interest in the conference is high this year. Nearby are dozens of other hotels from 1 to 5 stars, within short walking distances. A link to book in our room block will be sent shortly.
Located on the border of the United States and Canada, Niagara Falls is easily reached from international airports on both sides of the border.
Fly to Canadian Side:
The closest major airport in Canada is Toronto Pearson International Airport. The primary airport for Air Canada and a hub for WestJet airlines, Toronto is easily reached non-stop from most Canadian origins. As Canada's largest airport, Pearson (YYZ) is well-connected to all major American airlines and many from around the world. Toronto-Pearson is approximately 125km (85 miles) from Niagara Falls and accessible via public transit and private shuttle lines (more details below). If you are coming from outside of Canada, you will go through Canadian customs and immigration at Toronto Airport.
Toronto Island Airport (Billy Bishop, YTZ) is served primarily by Porter Airlines, and offers similar transit connections to Niagara. There is a free shuttle from the airport to Union Station, which has regular bus (GO) and train (VIA Rail and GO) service to Niagara Falls.
From either Toronto Airport, the most cost-time effective way to get to Niagara Falls via transit is using the GO or Via Rail service from Toronto Union Station. There is a direct train from Pearson to Union Station (UP Express) and a short shuttle from Toronto Island to Union Station. GO service is by bus and/or train (gotransit.com) while VIA Rail (www.viarail.ca) provides rail service. Advance tickets are highly recommended for both services, though our conference will be just ahead of peak tourism season. GO Tickets start at $20CAD and can include local transit in Niagara, while VIA Rail costs approximately $30CAD one way for a faster and more direct ride.
Hamilton Airport (YHM) is served primarily by low-cost carriers in Canada, and is located 84kms (51 miles) from Niagara Falls. You can also book an Air Canada flight from your origin to Hamilton, and the leg from Toronto to Hamilton is via a direct bus service run by Air Canada. The Hamilton Airport is less convenient to transit options, but may be a good option if you want to rent a vehicle while you are in the area.
Fly to American Side:
NOTE: If you fly to an American airport, you will cross the border into Canada by land at one of the two major crossings in the area: Buffalo-Fort Erie or Niagara Falls.
The closest major airport in the United States is Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF), which is served by all major American airlines including direct lines from most hub cities. Buffalo is located 30 miles (50kms) from Niagara Falls in Buffalo, New York.
There is an airport in Niagara Falls, NY (Niagara Falls International Airport). It has very limited service - at this time primarily bringing snowbirds to Florida.
For individual options rather than public transport, Niagara Airport Shuttle (https://niagaraairportshuttle.com/) provides connections to Niagara Falls from any of these airports on either side of the border. Estimates of their prices are below (for planning purposes only):
