Participant Information

Conference Registration Desk
  • The conference registration desk will be located in the Atrium of the Arts and Administration building [campus map] and will be open 8:00-17:00 on June 20 and 8:00-Noon on June 21-22.
  • Your registration package will include all the relevant conference information, any lunch or banquet tickets you purchased, as well as login information to access wireless internet service on the MUN campus.
Arrivals and Check-in
  • Memorial University is located not far from the St. John’s International Airport. The most convenient mode of transport to get to campus or to downtown is by Taxi.
  • If you are staying in the Memorial University Residences during your visit, the check-in desk for these accommodations is located in Rothermere House just off of Prince Philip Drive and Livyer’s Loop [campus map].
Paper Presentations
  • All conference panels will take place in the Arts and Administration Building or Bruneau Centre for Research;
  • Conference presenters will be able to access the computer podiums in each classroom using the Qualitatives username (qualitatives) and password (qac2012).
  • Please note: Memorial does not provide the cables to hook up a Mac notebook to our projectors, so please bring the appropriate ‘dongle’ to convert to a standard PC VGA plug.
Social Events

Informal Dinner on June 19th
  • Following the pre-conference workshops, conference participants will be invited to an informal dinner at Yellowbelly Brewery and Public House (http://www.yellowbellybrewery.com/index.html) located in downtown St. John's.
  • We will meet at the front of the Arts and Administration building and depart campus at 5:30pm. If you plan on attending please email Justin Piché (jpiche@mun.ca) by June 17th.
Opening Social on June 20th
  • The opening social is being held at the Breezeway Pub located on the first floor of the University Centre at 5:30pm. One complimentary drink and appetizers will be provided.
Banquet on June 21st
  • For all who have purchased tickets in advance, the conference banquet is being held in the reception hall at the Geo Centre (http://www.geocentre.ca). A shuttle bus will depart from the front of the Arts and Administration building at 5:45pm. The banquet will begin at 6:00pm.
